Mini-Mites (pre K-2nd Grade)

Overview:
The Mini-Mites program is open to boys and girls in from pre-Kindergarten to Grade 2. Our purpose is to educate young players on the fundamentals of playing lacrosse in a fun and safe way. While the team's goal is to help build and promote lacrosse for residents of the Town of Amherst, residents of other local communities which do not have a local team may also register (slots may be limited and some exceptions may apply).
Parent and Player Expectations:
- The season will meet on Sundays from 4/15 to 6/10 (with the exception of Memorial Day)
- The team will practice on Sundays from 1pm - 2:30pm
- As resources allow, we may add an extra session during the week
- There may be light game simulation, or full games with other towns, for older and more experienced players
Fees:
The out of pocket cost for a typical player is $70. The player fee for the 2017 Mini-Mite program is $40.00 -- it covers a jersey, as well as all fees associated with regular season play (town/rec department fees, field fees, team equipment, balls, etc.). This does not include an additional $30 for your child's US Lacrosse Membership -- this provides our players with the requisite insurance coverage during the season. As part of the registration process you will be taken to the US Lacrosse site to register for the $30 annual membership, the rest is completed by the AYL website.
For an additional $30, AYL will provide your child with a stick which would raise the out of pocket cost for the season to $100.
US Lacrosse Membership provides our players with the secondary insurance coverage during the season and is mandatory. This membership is created/renewed as part of the registration process where you will be brough to the US Lacrosse website.
